Like your ayurvedic body type, kapha, pitta and vata, it can also be changed by doing some lifestyle changes.

Now in today life, it is very difficult to be sattvic but ayurveda mentions that we can change our guna by just doing small changes in our eating habits.

·        If yo are tamasic then you should cut down frozen food, packaged food, non-vegetarian food and even onion and garlic. 20 minutes of daily exercise can also help you in changing your guna.

·        If you are rajasic then you are eating too much salty, spicy, sweet, hot and cold food. They make the mind agitated and confused. You should eat slowly and cut down too much salty and spicy food. Daily yoga practice can also help you  with this.

·        If you are sattvic then it is great. Continue doing that. Sattvic food includes home-made food, fruits, nuts, lentils etc.

Conclusion:

Ayurveda also suggests that the food is not the only way to convert your guna but it is the way in which the food is eaten because the same food which is sattvic can get converted into rajasic or tamasic. Like, if you have an apple which is fresh, so that is sattvic but if you cut that same apple and eat with salt then it is rajasic. If you eat that same apple after refrigerating it then it will be a tamasic food. So it is not the food, it is the way in which it is eaten.
